Registrations are now open for the 2025 European Quality Assurance Forum, dedicated to the theme of ‘QA in times of crises - Ensuring stability, autonomy and international cooperation in higher education’. Through a wide range of sessions at Corvinus University of Budapest from 12-14 November, EQAF 2025 will reflect on the role of QA in upholding public education as a shared societal asset and promoting academic values to ensure higher education continues to be a foundation for progress and development.
This week, EUA published a new briefing on ‘Participation in institutional governance’ across Europe, which explores the evolving landscape of university governance. The publication offers a detailed picture of the development and current models of governance, their structures, legal provisions and levels of inclusiveness. It also identifies common trends and highlights how major transformations are reshaping what is asked of institutional leadership and governance.
Finally, I am pleased to let you know about two opportunities to contribute to EUA’s work on behalf of Europe’s universities. A call for hosts for two future editions of our Annual Conference, in 2027 and 2028, is now open. In addition, we have launched two surveys on EUA’s next Strategic Plan, one for EUA members, and another for our partners and non-members. Both surveys remain open for individual responses until 1 September, and we would be most grateful for your time and input to help shape the Association’s future strategic direction.
With that, I would like to wish you all a pleasant and restful summer break. The next edition of our newsletter will come to you in September.
